Telecinco faces a crucial moment, seeking to reinvent itself to recover the audience it has been losing in recent months. Despite the efforts and changes implemented in its television schedule, the network has not yet found the formula to win back its audience.
For this reason, he has once again turned to Lara Álvarez, who has had a 2023 full of professional successes. The Asturian presenter, once out of Supervivientes, has continued to be one of the regular faces of the network with programs such as GH VIP, Me resbala and A tu pelota.
Despite some setbacks in hearings, Álvarez continues to be a key figure at Telecinco, as demonstrated by his recent contract renewal. And for 2024 she already has a new project on the network: she will be the presenter of The Best Generation, a new musical talent show produced by Gestmusic, known for their success with Operación Triunfo.
Álvarez’s new project will focus on artists who compete through song and dance, representing different musical eras. It is an interesting bet that seeks to capture the essence of the different musical generations.
The network has already begun to promote this new program in which nine famous singers – including Marta Sánchez, Melody and Pablo Carbonell – will represent three different generations. According to the announcement, the words of Lara herself, the program guarantees: “Humor, fun and the best music.” Therefore, it is expected to premiere sometime in the first half of 2024.
Criticisms have been expected. Some users on social networks, after viewing the promotion, have predicted a dark future for this new program: “Failure guaranteed.” Another has gone further and stated that Telecinco is “returning to 2022”, implying that the network does not understand what the audience currently wants.
Despite these comments, the communicator has shared on Instagram her enthusiasm for these new challenges, highlighting her long relationship with Mediaset since 2014 and her joy for everything that is to come in the near future: “Exciting moments are approaching, new challenges and projects”.
