‘Succession’ goes all out with the trailer for its final season

A common resource in television series is that, when the end is near, the most significant characters in the story have to return: it is not so much a matter of firing them but rather raising the ante, the bar and satisfying the public. And, in case anyone had any doubts about the power of the third and final season of Succession, the trailer anticipates that all those who crossed the path of Logan Roy (Brian Cox) will return. Well, almost all.

“There is a path for us. We partner with Sandi and Stewy, with Pierce. A deadly fight between ogres”, advises Kendall (Jeremy Strong) to his brothers after the events that occurred at the end of the previous season, when they discovered that their father preferred to sell or cede control of the company to a third party rather than leave Waystar Royco in hands of Kendall, Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook). Therefore, Hope Davis, Arian Moayed and Cherry Jones will be back to say goodbye to their respective characters.

And who remembers the beginnings of the series? Because, although the story began with Logan’s health problems, who was losing his faculties at a forced march, now in the images he is seen rejuvenated and, as Greg (Nicholas Braun) indicates, he looks like a kind of Santa Claus if this was a bully. “I’m going to build something bigger, faster, wilder. I want to kill the opposition! Cut their throats! We are pirates! ”, Shouts the patriarch before his workers.

Succession creator Jesse Armstrong decided it was time to wrap up the story when, when laying out the plot lines for the upcoming season, he realized his run was coming to an end. “Before, we have discovered potential plots and character dynamics that required us to explore them,” he was honest with the New Yorker, but this time he saw that the plots led him to an inescapable moment: “I never thought this would last forever: the outcome was always there.” present in my head.”

And when does the farewell tour start? The 27th of March. HBO Max will air the fourth season weekly.
