Last December, Soraya Arnelas announced that she was expecting her third child with her husband, Miguel Ángel Herrera. However, a few weeks later the sad news came out: the singer from Extremadura had lost her baby. A personal setback that was a hard blow for the entire family.

The singer did not want to talk too much about this very private topic, although she did dedicate a few lines to her followers to ensure that she did not feel anger among all the sadness. Now, the artist has revealed that she has written a song to that baby she lost. It is titled Alas and, as Soraya herself explains, it is the most difficult song she has had to sing in her 18-year career.

Next week we will record the video clip for my new single, Alas”, reveals the artist through her official Instagram profile. A song that has been a whirlwind of emotions for Valencia de Alcántara, who reveals that it has been ” a sea of ??tears” during the entire process, but she is convinced that “it will be worth it.

“I had to close a cycle that has marked me a lot, and I will do it with this song,” he explains, adding that with this new single he trusts that many families in his situation will feel his support. “I sincerely hope that this topic can help many families and many little “astronauts” who have flown to other planets.”

The singer also wanted to share a few lines of Alas’ lyrics, and her followers have been able to see that it is loaded with emotions and meaning.

How to get to the sun,

that airplane has not been invented.

Science does not provide the solution

to find us both.

I’m going to leave the planet

to reach your star.

I don’t need the location,

because your love guides me.

Because I…

I know how to fly with your wings.

And fly.

And fly.

You taught me to fly.

to fly

to fly

You opened the sky for me with your wings,

and I traveled where you were;

And the color of hope

I have your wings painted today.

The singer thus expresses her pain after losing the baby she was expecting, showing her way of living and how to overcome grief for what could have been and was not, since it was a much-wanted baby. Luckily, the woman from Extremadura has been very supported by her entire family and her most loved ones, as she made known to her followers on social networks.

“We really wanted to be able to be a large family, but sometimes the plans are not in one’s hands,” said the singer in the publication with which she shared the news. Even so, both she and her husband were grateful “for having two wonderful and healthy daughters.”

The singer and her family have experienced their grief privately, but it seems that expressing it in a song has helped her try to overcome it; in addition to commenting on what happened with women who have gone through the same situation. “Unfortunately, this happens a lot more than people think.”
