The song Zorra, which will represent Spain in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, has brought with it a variety of opinions on the matter. However, the victory of the Alicante duo Nebulossa at the Benidorm Fest has led to both criticism and praise. Social networks have given visibility to diverse opinions on the subject, generating two divided sides: those who love the song and those who hate it.
Celebrities, for their part, also wanted to give their opinion. One of them has been the singer-songwriter José Manuel Soto, who has shown this through his official Twitter profile. In the publication, the artist focused on a specific moment in Nebulossa’s performance and added through X: “
His colleague, Manu Tenorio, has been even harsher on his Twitter profile, where he belittles Zorra’s lyrics and message. The one who was a contestant in the first edition of Operación Triunfo, tweeted: “Bitch: when in this social chaos in which we live, it reaches its ceiling when profanity replaces lyricism, poetry, beauty…. But I understand that there are still people who put into practice that: ‘the important thing is that they talk.'”
After the publication of the tweet, the artist responded to the criticism by saying that the users’ responses were “like leftovers from dishes that go into the trash.” He later added: “By the way, let’s see if you learn to respect the opinions of others even if they do not coincide with ours. It’s called EDUCATION!
For its part, the Valencian duo composed of Mark Dasousa and María Bas won the festival over the proposal of Jorge González and St. Pedro, as great favorites. Zorra’s proposal swept the votes, achieving a total score of 156 points, and placing itself as the one chosen to represent Spain in Malmö (Sweden) in May.
After the praise and criticism that the song has received, Nebulossa is aware that his proposal was going to be controversial. “We are of an age and you already see things and handle them differently. We are not 20 years old and I hate everything,” María Bas assured the press after her victory.
