It was normal for series like Grey’s Anatomy or The Good Doctor to return with new episodes between September and October. The writers’ strikes, called between May and October, and the actors’ strike, which lasted between July and November, paralyzed television: first due to the impossibility of writing new episodes and proposing new seasons, and then due to the inactivity of the actors. But, after the end of both, the channels are placing the star series with the aim of saving a season that they almost had to give up.

The ABC channel, for example, has reported that the first series that may return are comedies: The Conners, Almost Dead and Abbott School will air the first episodes of their respective seasons on February 7 in the United States. On February 20 it will be the turn of two police series such as Will Trent and The rookie, in addition to the medical drama The good doctor, which after six seasons remains one of the channel’s most viewed content.

Finally, on March 14, 9-1-1, Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 will arrive. There are changes here. To begin with, the series about the Los Angeles emergency services has moved from the FOX channel, which canceled the series due to its high budget despite good ratings, to ABC, which owns the production company that produces it. Don’t expect crossovers with 9-1-1: Lone Star, the series from the same franchise with Rob Lowe, because they won’t be able to switch characters when they air on different channels.

And, speaking of crossovers, Grey’s Anatomy and its spin-off Station 19 will change their dynamic. Before, the firefighters were broadcast first and then the doctors, which dictated how the plots were approached in the writers’ room, and now they will be broadcast the other way around. Furthermore, Shonda Rhimes’ universe does not want to complicate life with the new episodes: the transfer of characters will not be so recurring and they only plan to produce one crossover.

Regarding the return dates in Spain, the channels and platforms that own the broadcast rights to the series have yet to make a statement.
