The Serielizados Fest has already announced its international guest for the next edition of the event that will be held from October 17 to 21 in Barcelona and from October 24 to 28 in Madrid. And, following in the footsteps of star screenwriters on the international scene such as David Simon (The Wire) or Dan Harmon (Community), the festival will be attended by Jesse Armstrong, the creator of Succession who only last week received critical acclaim worldwide for the outcome of the series.
In Barcelona, ??he will have a conversation to talk about his career and what it means to work on a production like Succession, which has accumulated 13 Emmy awards, including two for best television drama series and three for best solo script. In Madrid, on the other hand, he will give a master class for professionals in the audiovisual sector and students.
The English screenwriter made his television debut in 2000 with a British sitcom aimed at children, My parents are aliens, and raised his profile in the sector as a scriptwriter for The thick of it, the prestigious political series by Armando Ianucci (Veep) in which he worked from 2005 to 2009, or writing an episode of Black mirror in 2011. His creations also include series such as Peep Show, The Old Guys or the comedy Fresh Meat.
The Serielizados Fest will be held at four points in Barcelona: the CCCB, the Phenomena Room, Casa Seat and the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication Auditorium. In the case of Madrid, this will take place at the Cine Estudio of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, Cinesa Proyecciones and Academia de Cine. The festival will also have an online version for subscribers of the Filmin content platform, which will offer some of the serial shows between October 17 and October 29.
While waiting to meet new guests, the date on which tickets for the Jesse Armstrong sessions will be sold is known: July 19.
