Sara Sálamo blew up social networks this afternoon after publishing a controversial tweet in which she compared sexist violence against women with the violence caused by the terrorist group ETA.
The actress has shared on Twitter a photograph of a graffiti on a wall in which the message can be read: “Spanish machos kill more than ETA”. The publication quickly went viral, accumulating more than 5,300 “likes” and 1,300 retweets in just three hours, and has aroused all kinds of comments, most of them rejecting it.
So much so, that Sálamo has been forced to delete the post and apologize. In another post on her personal Twitter account, the Canarian woman justified her decision to delete the post by explaining that she wanted to “enjoy a quiet afternoon with my children without receiving threats and sexist insults”, before leaving a message for those who have been especially hard against her: “Some have an abysmal creativity to take double readings and generate hatred and polarization, which could well be used for something necessary”.
Subsequently, in another tweet, the actress has apologized: “I’m sorry I compared murder victims with murder victims… I’ve gone crazy.”
Hours before, Sara Sálamo had also shared another image in which a drawing of a pyramid appeared in which different degrees of machismo were presented. These publications have aroused criticism from many users and have made it a trend in Spain.
The actress is known for her activist side for the rights of women and animals.
