Joining several fast food hot spots and casual dining establishments with perfect health scores in the city’s weekly restaurant inspections is a list of S.A.’s most well-loved dining magnets and staples.
Inspectors turned in perfect health reports at local bars, H-E-Bs, Whataburgers, Starbucks, a Northeast Side pizza mecca and Church’s Chicken, the fried chicken spot that got its start back in 1952 with a stand across the street from the Alamo.
Each week we examine hundreds of restaurant inspections conducted by the San Antonio Food and Environmental Health Services division to sift out the dirtiest and cleanest restaurants around San Antonio.

And while there are scores of failing grades there are also plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, cafeterias and other establishments that score a perfect 100 on their inspection reports.
You likely won’t find mold, blood, roaches, or improperly stored or rotting foods at these spots. Nor will you likely find issues with employees not washing hands or foul odors.
