Días de tele, the program that Júlia Otero presents every Wednesday night on La 1, will say goodbye to the screens after the broadcast of the last agreed deliveries. As La Vanguardia has learned exclusively, the TVE space will end its broadcasts in three weeks, next Wednesday, March 29. That same day the 13 installments signed with the producer of the program are fulfilled.
This has been communicated today to the workers of Días de tele, who trust that TVE will bet again on the format once the summer has passed. The program has not been without controversy after being awarded to LACOproductora, the company of journalist and businessman José Miguel Contreras last October 2022. Although it made headlines because it meant the return to the small screen of journalist Júlia Otero, it also made running rivers of ink the space budget: 5.5 million euros for all 13 deliveries stipulated in the contract.
By program, there have been some 423,000 euros that RTVE has disbursed for the realization of TV Days. Of these, between 25,000 and 30,000 have gone only to the salary of Otero, who has collected such amounts for each delivery, as was known at the time the contract was signed.
This high investment, added to audience figures that have been well below expectations, have caused the program to be the target of some union branches on RTVE. For CCOO, “the audience” has not justified “the investment” made for its broadcast.
