The president of the CCMA, Rosa Romà , has defended this Friday in the control commission of Parliament the broadcast of a documentary on 30 minutes and the final (delayed) of the Kings League competition last Sunday because it has become a “phenomenon†that was worth tackling from a double perspective: that of “reflection and critical vision†of the information space and that of bringing the audience closer and in the Catalan language to content that “everyone was talking aboutâ€.
Romà , who did not have the amount paid to the organization for emission rights, although she recalled that it is a public contract and therefore is on the transparency portal, has reported that 30 minuts had a quota of 19, 1%, “one of the best results of the season”, and that the final was the audience leader in its time slot, with a cumulative audience of 650,000 viewers.
The control commission also announced that TV3 and Catalunya RÃ dio will celebrate their 40th anniversary this year with special programming, an exhibition, a popular race and open days. A commission has been created to coordinate the events, which will begin on May 30 with a reception in Parliament, coinciding with the anniversary of the approval of the law, and will continue with activities such as a popular race between Catalunya RÃ dio and TV3 on July 18 , open days in October, a virtual reality exhibition on its history and special programming with theme nights.
The big day at Catalunya RÃ dio will be June 20, the exact date of its anniversary, with the hybrid and joint broadcast with TV3 of a space carried out throughout the territory that will unite the voices of the present, the future and the names “that have made greater” in the past. The director of the station, Jordi Borda, has said that they will make an effort to “project” the idea that the station has been a source of “talent” throughout the Catalan radio space over the years, while at the same time being “prepared for the future and for leading the change”.
Asked by different groups about the new content platform, Romà responded that it is a “firm and determined” commitment to content in Catalan, which will be launched in a first phase in September, with improvements in the user experience and start of the registration phase, and which will begin definitively, in a second phase, from the first quarter of 2024.
Romà has stated that it is a strategic project for the CCMA and that it wants to be an “aggregating” platform and a meeting point for content in Catalan beyond who the producers are. He considers it an urgent project given the change in consumer habits and added: “We have been delayed, we are not there where our audiences are”
During the commission, Romà also celebrated the fact that La Marató 2023 is dedicated to sexual and reproductive health, and hopes that it will help promote research in this area due to the “little visibility” it has had so far. For his part, the director of TV3, Sigfrid Gras, has responded to the criticism of Cs for broadcasting a gag on the program ‘Polònia’ about the nurse who criticized the compulsory nature of the C1 for the oppositions: “It falls within the normality of the program ” which addresses current political and social events through satire, he said.
