These are not being easy hours for the actor Rodolfo Sancho. His son Daniel is arrested in Thailand after being accused of murdering and dismembering Edwin Arrieta Arteaga, a Colombian surgeon with whom he was on vacation on an island in the Asian country. After the great commotion generated around this case, the actor from The Ministry of Time has issued a statement with which he breaks his silence.

This Saturday, Informalia anticipated that the interpreter was already on his way to the Asian country. Now, in the first hours of him in Thailand, Rodolfo has issued a statement sent to Europa Press in which he asks for “maximum respect” for his son and the rest of the family at these “so delicate” moments for all of them. “I beg the media to refrain from issuing any hasty judgment in light of the latest events,” says the actor from Mar de Plástico.

“I ask that no information be released that could interfere with the development of justice and the correct investigation procedure, as well as any diplomatic action that could be underway,” he adds in the text issued this Sunday. This statement comes just a few hours after the first images of the alleged murderer going with the Thai police to the places where he scattered the remains of the body of the Colombian surgeon.

Shortly after, the first statements of the young man, 29 years old, arrived. “I’m guilty, but I was Edwin’s hostage. He held me hostage. It was a glass cage, but it was a cage. He made me destroy my relationship with my girlfriend, he forced me to do things I would never have done,” he said. After his arrest, the Spanish chef’s visa has been revoked and on Monday he will go to court, at which time it will be decided whether or not he is guilty of this case. Meanwhile, Daniel is under constant surveillance “for fear that he may resort to suicide,” local authorities explain. The young man would have shown signs of “stress” after confessing. On the other hand, the alleged murderer could face the death penalty, since in Thailand people accused of murder can face this type of sentence.

According to the Bangkok Post, a police source assured that during the interrogation, Sancho told the investigators that he had taken Arrieta to his room. She claimed that the man wanted to have sex with him, but he refused. Going into a fit of rage, he punched his friend, causing the victim to fall unconscious after hitting her head on a bathtub. Subsequently, Daniel decided to cut the body into 14 parts. Some of these parts have been found in different places, others were thrown into the sea.
