Concerts are big parties. Whether heavy metal, rock, pop, electronic or even orchestral, they are the best possible celebration of live music and its artists. In the more commercial genres, the term party expands to stadiums like the mythical Wembley in London, packed to the brim to see and interact with artists such as Harry Styles. However, surprises can also bring something special to concerts, as happened to Ricky Martin this week.
The Puerto Rican singer took the stage for the first time in the Swiss city of Locarno, located on the northern shore of the renowned Lake Maggiore. There, the winner of two Grammy awards and five Latin Grammys displayed all his talent for dance and voice, as part of his Symphonic tour with Tom Odell as a special guest. With the company of an orchestra, Martin brought the entire Piazza Grande of the city to its feet, including his two children.
Intoxicated by the party and the music, Matteo and Valentino jumped on stage and began to dance with their father, during an improvisation by the percussion team. The singer tried to get their attention while he jumped with them, aware that they had appeared by surprise and were not part of the show. However, the father was visibly overwhelmed by emotions and the unexpected intervention of his children, so he simply danced with them.
The video already accumulates about 375,000 views on TikTok, the social network where Ricky Martin shared it, in addition to 30,500 likes and more than 500 comments. The responses were similar to the reaction of the Puerto Rican himself on stage, excited and surprised. “They no longer see you behind the scenes, they already know that you are dad and Ricky Martin! What pride on both sides and so much love”, confessed a user in one of the comments.
“What a beautiful surprise! When my twins went on stage with me for the first time,” the singer himself commented in the text that accompanied the clip. His reaction was accompanied by different requests to see Matteo and Valentino in more cities. “We want the twins at the concert in Mexico, huh?” Another user pointed out in his response. “I got stuck in time, I thought they were still three years old,” he admitted another comment.
This concert is one of the many options that Martin has to disconnect from the setbacks he has received lately. At the beginning of July, the news of her separation with Jwan Yosef was known, a divorce that ended six years of marriage.
“Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on peace and friendship to continue raising our children together, preserving the respect and love we have for each other,” they requested in the official confirmation statement.
