The return of Operación Triunfo is getting closer to becoming a reality. With the casting just around the corner and the OT Cover initiative sweeping social networks, all that remains is for the program to find its chosen ones and stand in front of the cameras, the public and the team that will direct them. Several of those names are already sealed, such as Noemí Galera in charge of the Academy and Manu Guix as musical director. Now it is also known who will send us the information of their daily progress.
Gestmusic and Prime Video have announced through VerTele that the Murcian singer-songwriter Xuso Jones will be in charge of presenting the Academy’s daily magazine on the Amazon platform. They have also detailed that Jones will have a team of collaborators to discuss the training and coexistence of the contestants as the days progress.
“It will be a program where the information of the day will be given with people who will contextualize it and give value. There will also be exclusive content”, detailed those responsible for the format during the official presentation that took place at the end of May. With this opportunity, Xuso Jones adds a second position as a presenter to his resume, after being in charge of the post-gala spaces of the first edition of La Voz on Antena 3, in 2019.
Tinet Rubira, director of Gestmusic, also announced at the time that there would be another program after the galas to comment on everything that happened in them, in addition to the magazine. This space, with other presenters, will differ from the classic Chat of the format and will bet on reviewing the first subsequent reactions. It will also be possible to talk with the contestants, the person expelled from the gala and get a little bit of crumb from everything that happened.
The selection processes for this new edition of Operación Triunfo will start in Barcelona on July 3. From that day until September 19, including a break in August, the caravan of the program will pass through seven other cities: Zaragoza, Santiago, Bilbao, Valencia, Las Palmas, Malaga and Seville, before ending in Madrid. Those who want to appear must be of legal age with the DNI or residence permit in order.
In total there will be up to four selection phases. The first consists of singing a cappella for a minimum of 20 seconds one of the 50 songs on the list. The second phase will be a casting behind closed doors, to be agreed by the program on the day, time and place. If this second cut is passed, a final casting will be held, from which about 20 potential contestants will end up leaving. These will compete before the public in a ‘Gala 0’ where they will end up determining the 16 final participants.
