The famous bailaor Rafael Amargo is going through a very difficult time in his life. A little over a month ago, the artist was arrested on charges of drug trafficking from his home, news that he received when he was in Alicante with his show.
At the moment the agents tried to arrest him, Amargo began a struggle with the policemen that was interpreted as resistance, for which he had to spend the night in jail.
After a few weeks in which he has moved away from the media spotlight and has fled from controversy, the choreographer has given an exclusive interview for the Espejo Público program where he has once again affirmed that he is innocent of what he is accused of and has explained that he is going through a bad time and that he has been in psychiatric treatment for more than 2 years.
When he recalls the night of his second arrest, the bailaor continues to defend that he did not resist, but simply wanted to find out for what reason they were arresting him and the police did not see reason. Talking about the episode and answering the question of whether he really bit an agent, Bitter affirmed that he did because he had no hands and they were beating him: “I was lying on the ground. I turned it around and a riot broke out, they throw me to the ground to calm me down, but when they castrate you and they stomp on your head… I defended myself.”
The native of Granada has assured on television that he is experiencing an injustice and that not only he is suffering, but his entire family: “There is no one to protect you when you suffer a clear injustice.”
When the reporter asked him about the crime of which he was accused and if he had drugs on him for his own use, the bailaor clarified that there were no “small amounts”, because there was nothing, which is evidence that he is innocent and that he does not understand why they arrested him with such a lack of evidence.
In the interview, he also talked about how he has been away from the media for a while because he needs peace and quiet, since he is really suffering a lot with the latest events. In addition, he has added that he has even come to think about taking his own life: “I am a very brave guy, but there are times when I think about getting out of the way.”
Despite everything that has happened to him, Rafael amargo has assured that he will continue working hard to earn a living and fighting to prove his innocence, although he does not know if he will ever be the same again: “I don’t think he will be the same person as before because my heart is very hurt”.
