More than ten days have passed since the life of the British royal family took a 180 degree turn. Buckingham Palace announced on February 5 that King Charles III, 75, had been diagnosed with cancer. The news came just a few days after his medical intervention for an enlarged prostate, which took place at the end of January. Thanks to this surgery they were able to detect this new diagnosis, which has nothing to do with prostate cancer, according to Casa Real.
Due to this health setback, the current monarch has had to pause all his public duties in order to undergo treatment as soon as possible. However, this health downturn has been a hard blow for the entire family, but especially for his two sons, Princes William and Henry, who were among the first to hear the news.
Such was the concern of the Duke of Sussex, that he did not hesitate for a second to take a plane to visit his father. And Prince Henry, who currently resides in the United States with his wife, Megan Markle, and his two children, Archie and Lilibet, took a flight early in the morning on February 6 to destination London. A trip that was the most talked about, but that barely lasted 24 hours.
The youngest son of the monarch traveled to Clarence House, current residence of Charles III, where he had a brief meeting with his father that lasted about 45 minutes. However, less than a day after his visit to London, the Duke of Sussex was returning to Heathrow Airport to catch a flight home.
Now, several days after his visit to London, Prince Harry has opened up about the meeting he had with his father in an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America. Regarding how he experienced his return home, the Duke of Sussex seemed most satisfied. ”I love my family. I’m grateful for the fact that I was able to get on a plane and go see him and spend time with him,” he declared.
Furthermore, Prince William’s brother assured that these types of situations always helped keep the family together. ”In all families I see it day by day, once again, the strength of the family unit coming together. I believe that any illness, any ailment, unites families,’ he confessed.
