The greatest musical success in the history of Spanish television is back. The new edition of Operación Triunfo, this time produced by Amazon Prime Video, was officially presented last Wednesday with great expectation. With the confirmations of Chenoa as presenter and the return of Noemí Galera and Manu Guix, now the dates of the castings are also known, and the second city through which they will pass is Zaragoza.

The Basilica del Pilar will witness the future aspiring music stars on July 8, when the caravan of the program arrives in Aragon after raising the curtain in Barcelona on the 2nd. At the moment the exact location where they will take place is unknown. the tests, but the last time that the capital mañana witnessed a casting, it was held at the Hotel Zentro. And this is the first time in thirteen years, since 2010, that Operación Triunfo will pass through Zaragoza.

The process to follow to try to become a contestant on the program is simple, but tedious. The first requirement is to have reached 18 years of age on the day of the event, and present the ID or residence permit at the location. From there, it’s all a matter of the vocal talent of the applicants and the decisions of the judges. In total there will be up to four different phases to overcome, with the aim of being one of those chosen for the great show.

The first phase will take place in the castings, and consists of singing a cappella for a minimum of 20 seconds before the selection team. The second phase will be a casting behind closed doors, to be agreed by the program on the day, time and place. If this second cut is passed, a final casting will be held, from which about 20 potential contestants will end up leaving. These will compete before the public in a ‘Gala 0’ where they will end up determining the 16 final participants.

After passing through Televisión Española and Mediaset, the format of Operación Triunfo will undergo significant changes to facilitate reconciliation with the public. One of the most outstanding novelties will be the duration of the galas, which will become 90 minutes. “It is something that they have been demanding from us and we are going to give it to them. We want the entire part of the gala to be solely focused on music and who is leaving or who is staying”, commented Tinet Rubira, director of Gestmusic.

In addition, the contestants will be able to experience the ‘Chat OT’ first-hand, which will make its return in this edition. It is a space where interviews are conducted with the contestants, with the presence of the most recent expelled and which also reviews the highlights of each of the galas.
