Pride Events in New York: A Celebration Not to Miss

On June 30, the streets of New York City will come alive with dance parties, film festivals, drag shows, and street fairs as the city gears up for its official Pride march. The march, themed “Reflect. Empower. Unite.,” will kick off at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan at 11 a.m. Alongside the march, festivities like PrideFest in the West Village and Bliss Days at the DL Rooftop and Lounge will be taking place. Additionally, the annual Dyke March will commence from Bryant Park on June 29.

Various Pride marches and festivals will also be held in different areas, including Staten Island, Westchester, Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island, Hudson, Harlem, and The Bronx throughout the month of June. Despite warnings from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security about potential security threats to Pride events, New Yorkers remain resilient and united in their celebration of Pride Month.

In the midst of the festivities, New York City will host a multitude of events to mark the occasion. From Kembra Pfahler’s performance at MoMA PS1 in Queens to the Night at the Museum party on June 1, to the extravagant PlanetPride dance party at Avant Gardner in Brooklyn on June 29, there will be no shortage of opportunities to celebrate love and diversity.

As New York City prepares to paint the town rainbow, residents and visitors alike can look forward to a month filled with love, unity, and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. So put on your dancing shoes and get ready to join in the festivities as New York City embraces Pride Month with open arms.
