The last few hours have marked an important change in the lives of Antonio Tejado and María del Monte. Last summer, the Sevillian singer experienced a nightmare situation with her partner, Inmaculada Casal, when the home where they lived was attacked by five hooded men. Until this Monday morning, the ins and outs of the case remained unknown, but the arrest of the artist’s nephew has uncovered her intellectual responsibility.

Tejado was arrested on Friday, along with eight other people, after his involvement in the robbery of homes in different towns in the Aljarafe region of Seville, where the assault on María del Monte also took place. La Vanguardia has had access to the images of the arrest, provided by the Civil Guard, and its subsequent inspection of the floor where the operations were managed. Inside they have found different objects related to the crimes.

The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard Command in Seville has been in charge of carrying out the investigation over the last five months, known as operation Abgena. In addition to the images in question, up to eleven records have also been made in the towns of Seville, Brenes and Guillena; looking for evidence of involvement in crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, illegal detention, membership in a criminal organization and drug trafficking, among others.

The video provided by the Civil Guard shows the seizure of jewelry, sirens and false uniforms of the National Police, balaclavas, dark clothing items and different wads of bills hidden in sports bags, purses and other corners of the home, which could amount to up to the 30,000 euros. Other finds include a barrel extractor, lockpicks, a motion control beacon and two GPS.

Tejado is accused of being the intellectual author of the robbery, defined as the person who obtained information about the layout of the home, the location of the safe and the habits of the possible victims. Likewise, he was in charge of selecting homes of interest to the band, one of them being that of his aunt María del Monte. The singer seemed uncomfortable after the arrest of her nephew.

“About five or so months ago we had the worst day of our lives. The suspicions are not good and I have not suspected nor do I suspect anyone until a judge says what he has to say,” she expressed this Monday, interviewed from her car by a team of reporters from Europa Press. Information about the case continues to arrive in dribs and drabs as the hours go by.
