One more year, and now it’s 13, Dr. Bonaventura Clotet, as president of the Fundación Lucha contra las Infecciones, has hosted the People in Red gala on Monday night, which aims to raise funds for research against infectious diseases, which are the fourth leading cause of mortality in the world.

With the goal of exceeding the 775,683 euros raised last year, more than 700 people have gathered at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) to support the Fight Against Infections Foundation, which was created 30 years ago to combat the AIDS. “Dr. Bonaventura Clotet’s team not only investigates HIV, but has also categorized six lines of research to respond to different infectious diseases such as covid, sexually transmitted diseases, serious bacterial diseases and those that affect immunocompromised patients. ”, recounted Andreu Buenafuente, who has once again acted as presenter of the gala. Previously, the Mag Lari has been in charge of welcoming the guests as well as the singer Vicco, who has interpreted her theme Nonchentera

Since 7:00 p.m., many onlookers have gathered at the doors of the MNAC to see up close the celebrities who have passed through the photocall. The first were Dr. Clotet and his son, the actor Marc Clotet. His partner, the also actress Natalia Sánchez, has arrived a little later, dressed in red (by Nicole Milano), like most of the guests.

The FC Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernández, also attended the People in Red gala to show their solidarity in the fight against infectious diseases, taking advantage of the fact that the team had a few days off, with his wife Núria Cunillera, wearing a Ze Garcia. Her presence has aroused much expectation, just like that of the couple formed by the influencers Dulceida and Alba Paul, waiting for their first red carpet together after having reconciled, but they have decided to pose separately. The designer Juan Avellaneda is one of the regulars at the People in Red gala, and this time he hasn’t been missing either, despite finding himself helping his friend Tamara Falcó in the preparations for her wedding that will take place in just two months.

The red carpet has also passed, among others, the now retired singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat, extenista Àlex Corretja with model Martina Klein (Teresa Helbig), actors Darko Peric, Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Eric Masip, Óscar Casas and Macarena Gómez, former swimmer Gemma Mengual, influencers Jessica Goicoechea, Paula Gonu, Paula Ordovás, Laura and Ana Matamoros, Ana Padilla. Miguel Carrizo and Violeta Magriñán, the model Lucía Rivera, the architect Ricardo Bofill and the presenters Helena Garcia-Melero, Xavier Sardá and Cristina Puig.

Also in attendance was the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonés with his wife, Janina Juli, dressed as Forrellat, and former president Artur Mas with his wife Helena Rakosnik.

Once inside the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, the 700 guests were able to sample a menu by the Michelin-starred chef, Nandu Jubany, who has shown solidarity with the People in Red gala for several years now. For this edition, he prepared prawns with potato gnocchi and Iberian cream, beef fillet with chestnut mushrooms and vegetables, and textured mandarin for dessert.

The golden boche at the gala was given by the performance of the singer from Badalona Miguel Poveda, who moved the audience, just as Joan Manuel Serrat did last year. Then the party continued with music by DJ Fede Sardà and cocktails by Manel Vehí.

Bonaventura Clotet commented that galas like People in Red are necessary to raise money, which is the engine to continue investigating. That is why he encourages everyone to collaborate “even with 5 euros” through the page people in red.com or on lluita.org. And she added: “Thanks to research, HIV infection has become a chronic disease with an almost normal life expectancy. The knowledge acquired during these 30 years of history has helped us to know the immune system in depth and thus become international leaders in the approach to infectious diseases”.
