Melchior, Gaspar, Baltasar and Orestes. On one of the most magical nights of the entire year, Antena 3 brought as a gift the premiere of ‘Pasapalabra: Noche de Campeones’, a special tournament with four of the best participants in the history of the program. An edition with two semi-finals and a grand final whose guaranteed prize for the winner is 25,000 euros. If you also complete the rosco, a pot of 100,000.

Orestes Barbero participated in a total of 360 episodes of ‘Pasapalabra’, achieving victory 130 times and taking home a prize pool of 215,400 euros. Pablo Díaz, for his part, accumulated 260 programs in the contest, with an impressive record of 146 victories and walked away with the biggest prize, winning a jackpot of 1,828,000 euros.

Luis de Lama was present in 84 programs, achieving 38 victories and obtaining a prize of 39,600 euros. Finally, Javier Dávila participated in 76 programs, achieving 42 victories and taking home a prize of 26,400 euros.

The first program brought the duel that pitted Orestes against Juan Dávila. Rossy de Palma and Mario Vaquerizo formed the blue team with the latter, while Alaska and Boris Izaguirre completed the orange team with Orestes.

After passing the mythical tests, the moment arrived that any lover of the program wanted, seeing two of the best face to face in the donut.

Moments before starting, Orestes sent a message of gratitude for the number of times he was at the famous lectern and, above all, for many of those “rivals” he faced and ended up becoming friends.

In the face to face, Orestes dominated with a spectacular first round: 22 hits, ten of them in one go. On the other hand, Juan Dávila, who submitted several answers, had his first mistake with the letter Q and specifically the word ‘retouch’.

Orestes, aware that the ruling could condemn him, ensured 23 correct answers and left the letter N and the letter Y without answering. Dávila, in the end, would end up failing the letter Y, thus leaving him with no option to come back and therefore giving the victory to his opponent. Amid applause, Orestes assured his presence in the grand final against the winner of Pablo Díaz against Luis de Lama.
