Omar Montes explains what happened at the Ana Mena concert through a technician from the WiZink Center

Gaps in the middle of a concert are not new in the music industry. At some point or another in history there has been an artist who has not been correct in his interpretation. Whether due to the flu, hoarse voice, hoarseness or a playback error, artists have always been plagued by instances of this caliber. One of the last to suffer this setback was Ana Mena, but she was not the direct protagonist of the incident.

It was Omar Montes who was responsible for generating a controversy on social networks. The Madrid singer accompanied the Estepona singer last Saturday at her first concert at the WiZink Center, before a dedicated crowd. However, a problem when interpreting one of his joint songs has put him at the center of controversy. In the midst of a multitude of theories and speculations, the one from the Colonia de Pan Bendito has come forward to give explanations.

It all happened during his turn to sing the song Solo, a collaboration between the two artists and the Dominican producer Maffio. Given the impossibility of interpreting it correctly, Mena snatched the microphone from her to proceed with her performance, without attempting any duet again for the remainder of the evening. After this strange moment, doubts spread among those present, leading to speculation as to whether she was in a state of intoxication.

When in doubt, Montes turned to Antonio, a technician at the WiZink Center, to explain what really happened: “The back of the stage has a small staircase that was where Omar appeared and in the impasse of climbing the stairs the in ear (a tool used by musicians and artists to obtain an auditory reference), he was disconnected from the flask, that is, the headphones of the flask, and he did not hear anything, he only heard a bounce and he could not sing well.

The pavilion employee went on stage at the concert that Omar gave yesterday Thursday in Fuenlabrada, providing all these details. Montes expressed his pity for what happened on Saturday with Ana Mena, regretting the problem and the subsequent consequences. “My heart was in my fist the other day at Wizink, I was dead alive, I was dead alive,” she said. Despite what happened, the public accepted the artist’s explanations before continuing the concert.

The short pause in the concert concluded with applause for the technician. Despite this, the networks have not reacted in the same way. “Omar Montes apologizing for his failure to sing when he shouldn’t have with Ana Mena saying that her flask was disconnected and she wasn’t listening. Nobody believes it… How many artists take out their in-ears and continue singing the same because they have speakers on stage? It doesn’t work, kid,” explained a user in X, casting doubt on the explanations.
