Mediaset decided to make a radical change to its television schedule at the end of 2023. And in mid-December the news broke that the audiovisual group had broken all ties with the production company La Fábrica de la Tele, creator of programs like Sálvame or Deluxe, which also had to say goodbye to viewers last year.
However, the end of this alliance had great consequences for the production company’s only program that was still broadcast on Telecinco: Socialité. This television program was led by María Patiño and Núria Marín, but after the end of the corporate relationship between both parties, several rumors claimed that the audiovisual group intended to replace the presenters.
A decision that became official days later thanks to María Patiño herself. ”My termination as presenter of ‘Socialité’ has been published with lightning speed. We are proud that the network continues to support the format and the team. I never considered it a small program and it is clear that it was not, nor will it be. Now begins a wonderful stage. I feel lucky and loved. See you tomorrow,’ she wrote on her social networks.
However, the chain not only decided to do without María Patiño. The co-presenter, Núria Marín, also confirmed her departure through her social networks. ”Friends, lately I have learned so many things. And I am very proud of the path we have traveled. It could be a difficult day, but I just want to say thank you for everything, smile and look to the future,” she published on her Instagram profile. Thus, both said goodbye to the program at the end of the year and since January, María Verdoy has been the in charge of hosting the television program every weekend.
Weeks after her departure from Mediaset, Núria Marín opened up about all the controversy with the Telecinco program in a recent interview with the media Informalia on the occasion of the launch of her first novel, Soy Afrodita.
Regarding the reason why the audiovisual group wanted to dispense with María Patiño and her, Marín assured that it was for reasons beyond their control. ”I already saw it coming that this would happen. And what I was very clear about was that what was happening was not because I was a bad professional. I am a good, very good professional,” she confessed. Likewise, the former presenter of Socialité wanted to praise the attitude that Carlota Corredera had after her departure from Mediaset. “She is not intimidated by the system that sometimes would prefer us to be silent,” he asserted.
