When the godmother of an event is called Nieves Álvarez, you know in advance that everything is going to be fine. The model traveled to Barcelona to celebrate the third anniversary of Anara, a famous beauty salon in the upper part of Barcelona, summoned by her head stylist and today’s friend Ana Lérida: “I knew her work perfectly even though I live in Madrid. I was very lucky that L’Oréal, the firm for which she is an ambassador, chose me to put me in her hands and we have made a fantastic team; I come delighted. I greatly admire women with such strength, personality and degree of perfectionism”.

Among the guests at this anniversary, the coach of FC Barcelona, Xavi Hernández, with his wife, Núria Cunillera, Paloma Lago, Susi Rejano, Paula Nata, Romarey Ventura, Coral Simanovich and Melissa Jiménez, among others. Clara Chía, Anara’s client since before dating Gerard Piqué, could not attend because she was traveling with the ex-footballer.

Nieves Álvarez is perhaps the Spanish top who has best managed to make her career profitable. From Dior to Hermés, from Yves Saint Laurent to Armani, the main haute couture brands have wanted her on the catwalk and from Vogue to ELLE, from Telva to Vanity Fair, the high-end magazines considered fashion bibles have dedicated her covers. Mother of three children – Adriano and twins Bianca and Brando – and separated from photographer Marco Severini, Ella Nieves has shown that her set camera adores her as much as the photographer’s.

She has been in charge of the Flash Moda program (formerly Solo Moda) for almost eleven years and for almost half as a presenter of galas and events related to her profession: from the Adlib catwalk in Ibiza to the Carnival of the Canary Islands. And even with such a long curriculum, 30 years in fashion, she continues to feel nervous: “The emotion I feel when doing a show is what I am most passionate about; When I arrive at the haute couture in Paris, my heart begins to pound. But it is my field. Well, I’ve been on television for ten years, I feel very comfortable in front of the cameras. But as the presenter of a live gala… I notice those nerves of Oh, where am I getting myself into!

Nieves separated in 2015 from photographer Marco Severini, father of her three children. No fuss or reproaches. A rare display of elegance these days. “It is elegance but also education, respect and affection. He is the father of my three children! I love him enormously and respect him very much. I can understand ending badly if something very serious has happened, but not respecting someone who has such an important role in my life, I can’t conceive of it. My children are delighted with the relationship their parents have.”

She has been a partner of the Lebanese investor Bill Saad for a year and a half and given that Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is being held, it is appropriate to ask her if she would marry again. “Don’t know. I have not considered it. But in life I never say no because then you find yourself in situations where you may decide in a way that you had not considered before”. With that door ajar, we peek in to find out how she was conquered: “I am seduced by intelligence but even more by a smile, the way of seeing life, good humor. The education and the ‘enjoyment’ moment, I love that”.
