The Dani Alves case is once again on the agenda. The former Brazilian F.C. player Barcelona has been in provisional prison since January 20, 2023 after being accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old girl at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022.

This Thursday, February 22, the Provincial Court of Barcelona sentenced footballer Dani Alves to a sentence of 4 years and six months in prison for rape. The court has considered it proven that the athlete sexually assaulted the 23-year-old girl in the bathrooms of said nightclub in Barcelona.

In addition, the court has established a period of supervised release for Dani Alves for five years once the prison sentence has been served. You will also not be able to approach the victim within 1,000 meters or communicate with them by any means for a period of nine years. A sentence that has nothing to do with the 9 years in prison requested by the Prosecutor’s Office and the 12 years requested by the prosecution.

And his sentence has been reduced because a mitigating circumstance of reparation for the damage has been applied for having delivered 150,000 euros to the victim before the trial. Furthermore, as La Vanguardia has learned, the Brazilian footballer would have paid that amount of money to the Spanish Court thanks to the help of Neymar’s family.

At the time of his arrest, Dani Alves could not afford to pay that amount of money, so Neymar’s family took action and transferred the 150,000 euros from Brazil. According to several local media and as La Vanguardia has learned, it was Neymar’s own father who made the transfer months ago. A help with which Alves has managed to reduce his sentence.

In addition, the former F.C. player Barcelona is not going through a good economic situation since he currently has all his accounts seized in his native country due to an ongoing dispute with his former wife, Dinonah Santana.
