Ana Obregón is still on everyone’s lips. Since the magazine Hello! catch the actress leaving a Miami hospital with her daughter in her arms after carrying out a surrogacy process, television programs have turned to the subject. And now Sonsoles, from Antena 3 Televisión, has reopened a debate on the matter, giving a voice to women who could not adopt and who opted for this treatment.

However, not everyone is in favor of legalizing surrogacy in Spain. Miguel Lago made it clear this Monday and exploded before Sonsoles Ónega for ignoring another important reality in our country, that of adoption. So much so that the comedian parked his humor, became serious and even released some outburst or other.

It all happened after Sonsoles Ónega’s interview with a woman who became a mother thanks to surrogacy and who complained that the media talk about buying babies. “The children cannot go to school and have a classmate tell them that he has been bought and that his parents have exploited a woman,” protested the guest.

To which the presenter, at the end, gave him part of the reason: “I somewhat agree that the child is not to blame. The other day we heard it from Tamara Gorro, that they say to her daughter: ‘Your mother bought you…’ ”. Then, Miguel Lago intervened and said: “Actually, deep down, it is irrelevant.”

And, then, the comedian began a speech full of unease about this topic: “That Irene Montero comes out saying that all 41-year-old Galicians… It’s that I don’t give a damn. On this issue, each one brings the ember to his sardine, we all have our opinion, our history and our life. And we are living, or at least I have seen it since last week, a permanent trap that is taking him to the story of Pepe, Juan, Ana or Tamara. I don’t care.”

“Why am I saying this?” Lago continued, “because now I’m telling you about mine.” In this case, the Antena 3 collaborator was referring to the reality of orphanages in our country and the large number of minors waiting to be adopted.

“It hurts my soul to see that now all the Spanish politicians are leaving because it turns out that there are 1,000 children who are born by surrogacy and who are brought to Spain. That we are permanently discussing hours and hours on television about what we are going to do with unborn children and in Spain there are still 40,000 minors in orphanages”, commented the most indignant comedian.

From there, Lago gave a series of figures regarding the reality of these minors: 15,000 children between 0 and 5 years old in orphanages that cannot be adopted, 25,000 who are older than 7 years and 18,000 suitability certificates. That is, 18,000 families waiting for an adoption.

“I personally don’t give a damn about what is happening on this issue because we are discussing unborn children,” he would explode, raising his voice, “and we are discussing a majority, and I agree with this, an elitist who has the pasta and caprice”.

“But worry less about those who have not come and more about those who are here,” he concluded after crying out to heaven and showing himself to be very hurt for giving voice to surrogacy after the Ana Obregón case, and not to minors. they need to be adopted.
