Fashion is celebrating. Today, the first Monday in May, the Metropolitan Museum in New York once again hosts one of the most special events of the year: the Met Gala. The crème de la crème of Hollywood will travel to the Big Apple to show off their most eccentric looks with one goal in mind: honoring the legacy of iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld.
This star-studded fashion party can be followed live on La Vanguardia, which will cover the red carpet at 12:00 midnight between Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 May. The broadcast of the Met Gala 2023 will begin at 6:00 p.m. New York time, that is, at 0:00 a.m. Spanish peninsular time.
The gala will once again be hosted by actress La La Anthony, accompanied by writer Derek Blasberg and Saturday Night Live comedian Chloe Fineman. Likewise, the Internet star Emma Chamberlain will delight the spectators of the Gala by exercising another year as a correspondent for Vogue.
The 2023 Met Gala celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty†which will be open to the public from May 5 to July 16. This exhibition is a tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld, one of the most influential fashion designers of the last decades.
The dress code of the Met Gala 2023 will be “In honor of Karl”, remembering the German designer who was in charge of fashion houses such as Balmain, Fendi or Chanel. As revealed by Vogue, “the guests have for this tribute a rich variety of silhouettes, collections and concepts to be inspired by.”
The official gala co-chairs are Michaela Coel, Penelope Cruz, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa and Anna Wintour.
