Among the OT 2023 audience there was always an easy resource when talking about Martin Urrutia, the singer who reached the final: “He will end up working with the Javis.” The contestant did not hide that, beyond considering being a singer, he wanted to dedicate himself to acting. He even told Chenoa at a gala: if he had to choose, he preferred to be an actor. And, after the creators of The Messiah told him to contact them after a visit to the academy, his dream comes true: Martin will be in one of his next projects.

As 20 minutes reports, the 18-year-old Biscayan will be part of the cast of Mariliendre, a musical series produced by the Javis and which has been created by Javier Ferreiro, who worked on the sequel to Veneno, Vestidas de azul, and who recently was part of the Alteritats production team.

It focuses on Meri Román, who was the queen of Madrid’s gay nightlife at the time but who, at 35, is a dethroned diva who lives tormented by her past and bored in her mediocre present. After the death of her father, Meri reconnects with her entourage of gay friends, remembering her past and the great musical hits that marked that time, while she tries to define her chaotic life and her identity.

Mariliendre, developed by Suma Content, Calvo and Ambrossi’s production company, is produced for Atresmedia TV. It will not be the first time that the Javis, who were acting teachers in OT 2017 and OT 2018, trust students of the musical contest: in La Mesías there were two former contestants such as Amaia Romero, winner of OT 2017, and Cristina Rueda, finalist of OT 2009.

At the moment, there are no more details about the participation of Martin Urrutia, who is in luck this week: he releases his first single after his time at OT 2023, which is called Rompeolas and is the result of his composition classes at the academy, and Now his first work in a television series is confirmed (to make matters worse, a musical).
