A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder after being attacked at the Randall’s Island migrant shelter in New York City. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed the incident and mentioned that the man was stabbed by two of the shelter’s residents on Friday evening at 8 p.m. The suspects, identified as brothers Josue Deleon, 19, and Moises Deleon, 27, were arrested and charged with assault.

According to sources cited by the New York Post, an altercation occurred between two groups at the shelter following a previous stabbing earlier that day. The nature of the relationship between the victim and the suspects is currently unknown. This incident is the latest in a series of attacks at the New York City migrant shelter.

In April, five men were taken into custody by the NYPD for allegedly assaulting another man in his bed and injuring a security guard during a brawl. The attackers, aged between 20 and 33, surrounded the victim’s bed and physically assaulted him. They have been charged with third-degree assault and harassment.

In a separate incident in February, two migrants were arrested at the same shelter for assaulting a security guard in two separate altercations on the same evening. Responding officers witnessed one of the assaults while attempting to intervene in the first incident.

The Randall’s Island migrant shelter has been the site of multiple violent altercations in recent months, raising concerns about the safety and security of residents and staff. The NYPD has been actively responding to these incidents and making arrests as necessary to ensure the well-being of those at the shelter.

The authorities are urging anyone with information about these incidents or any other criminal activity to come forward and assist in the investigations. Maintaining a safe environment at shelters for migrants and residents is crucial for the overall well-being and security of the community.
