Álvaro de Luna has become one of the most prominent names on the current music scene. After his time in the band Sinsinati, the Sevillian singer hit the charts with the song Juramento Eternal de Sal, before becoming one of the leading composers of romantic songs. This coming Friday he releases Uno, his second album, and will premiere it in style with a concert the same day at the Príncipe Pío theater in Madrid.

This was commented on Zapeando, the La Sexta program presented by Dani Mateo. The Andalusian artist has been invited by the space to share insights about his new album, and some anecdotes from his daily life. One of the most notable, which he has reiterated when asked by his interlocutors, was the time he received a letter from Pedro Sánchez. To his surprise, the then president of the government sent a letter of condolences to his family.

It happened in 2018, when his mother received a letter with the signature of the head of the Spanish executive. In it, Sánchez sent his deepest condolences for the loss of Álvaro de Luna. However, it was an unfortunate confusion, and the president sent the letter to the wrong person. In reality, that condolences were directed to the family of the Madrid actor Álvaro de Luna, who played El Algarrobo in Curro Jiménez between 1976 and 1978.

Quique Peinado was in charge of asking the question, which the singer was in charge of answering affirmatively. “This is real. In fact, we still have it. Well, my mother keeps it. I didn’t understand it because, in fact, he caught me working and my mother called me without understanding absolutely anything,” explained de Luna, who even received a call from his mother asking if he was dead. “Then we started spinning and we realized that the actor had died,” she added.

The program team tried to generate a moment of relaxation, questioning whether it was not really Pedro Sánchez who was in charge of spreading false rumors of deaths that later had to be denied. It didn’t seem like a bad idea to de Luna: “I would love that theory that he’s like a super troll,” he commented to emphasize with the program’s collaborators. “If he is at Forocoches all day, he sent the mariachis to him,” said Dani Mateo.

Another detail in which his mother was the protagonist is related to his most laborious side. According to Álvaro himself, she is the one who first receives her finished songs, with the aim of receiving a first contrasted opinion. The artist even confessed that there were some pieces that he modified or reconsidered after they did not receive approval from his mother.
