After several months of rumors, it seems that actor Lukas Gage and famed hairstylist Chris Appleton are comfortable talking about their budding romance. If the protagonist of The White Lotus allowed his followers to “interpret what they wanted” from what they saw of his increasingly frequent outings and images with the stylist of celebrities like Kim Kardashian or Jennifer Lopez; now it has been the hairdresser who has confirmed that yes, he and Gage are together and have no need to hide.

He has done it on the Drew Barrymore show, where on Friday he confessed that he was in a relationship that was giving him some of the best moments of his life.

“I am very happy, very much in love and I feel very lucky to be able to share my time with someone very special,” confessed the 40-year-old stylist, who added that “love is a very special thing, and I think If you meet someone you connect with, it becomes very, very special.”

The actress then showed an image of the protagonist of Euphoria and The White Lotus on the screen to see if the stylist was referring to Gage, and Appleton confirmed that yes, it was the actor, 28 years old.

A now confirmed relationship that began among strong rumors last January, after the couple spent a few days in Mexico and shared an image of their trip on social networks. Shortly after, they made their first joint appearance on the red carpet, at a Vanity Fair event in Hollywood, sparking speculation among the actor’s fans, who neither confirmed nor denied anything.

“I’m an open book about most things in my life, but I have a problem with people needing to know everything about each other and nothing can be private,” he recently confessed in an interview with The New York Times, referring to his last appearance with Appleton, assuring that it was something he was still trying to understand.

An aspect of public life that affected him, as well as being forced to have to make his sexual orientation public. According to the actor commented in the interview, at the beginning of his career an agent told him that he should define himself as ‘gay’ or ‘straight’ and stop “doing weird things because he is very confusing.” What’s more, the actor has been involved in various controversies having been chosen to play characters from the LGTBIQ collective when, according to his detractors, he does not represent them.

I understand that about representation and that everyone has to be heard, but I don’t want to do anything for anyone except myself. I’ll do what I have to do when I’m ready,” he insisted.
