Lucía Rivera has announced this Friday the launch of her first book, entitled Nothing is what it seems. In it, the model and collaborator of La Vanguardia offers a sincere and heartbreaking testimony that addresses the risks of fame, toxic relationships, the dangers of the world of fashion and mental health problems.
Famous from the cradle for being the daughter of Blanca Romero, and adoptive daughter of Cayetano Rivera after the marriage of the actress and the bullfighter, Lucía took her first steps in the world of modeling at an early age. However, not everything has been easy in her life, and that is what she tells in this new book, which is already available for pre-sale in its physical and digital version on Planet of Books.
The model reveals that at birth she was about to die, describes a complicated school stage in which she went through eleven different schools, after which she recounts her beginnings in the world of fashion and her mental health problems. She also addresses the relationships she had with toxic people and her commitment to feminism, as she showed in one of her collaborations with this medium.
As she herself recounts in the introduction, she has written this book so that readers can see “through my eyes. So that you hear my truth. So that we can have a coffee or a wine together, laugh, cry and become accomplices “. “Dear reader, when you finish this book, you may hate me or want to hug me tight,” the author also acknowledges about this book.
“In this book, Lucía not only transports you to each stage of her life, acting as a mere spectator. In this book, Lucía is able to make you relive your own experiences and make you reflect on everything you have lived through. Because she was pushed to mature before her time, but her tireless mind led her to want to know herself. It led her to want to put aside that fear that surrounds us when we want to look at what is inside of us. This book is the result of opening up and looking without fear into a vacuum. A small act of courage”, says the journalist Estefanía Ruiz in the prologue.
