When she assumed the presidency of Inditex, Marta Ortega was very clear that Zara should be associated with the world of luxury. The businesswoman opted for a new strategy that has been very effective thanks to her friendship with several personalities in the fashion industry. If a year ago the Inditex flagship surprised with a collaboration with Narciso Rodríguez that Queen Letizia fell in love with, now the brand presents its new alliance with Steven Meisel.

“The solid professional relationship between Steven Meisel and Zara is consolidated in September with the launch of a collection designed by the iconic photographer,” the company says. In this way, Ortega has managed to hire the New York portrait painter to create a capsule collection of clothing and accessories for men and women.

Meisel has made a declaration of love to his city of birth with a line full of pieces that “breathe pure style and personality of the photographer.” To make this project a reality, the portrait artist has counted on renowned supermodels such as Linda Evangelista, Irina Shayk, Amber Valletta, Kaia Gerber, Gigi Hadid and Eva Herzigova.

Makeup by Pat McGrath, hair by Guido Palau and styling by Karl Templer, the tops pose for Meisel’s lens with the different designs in which black is the main color.

Among the pieces, parkas, jeans of different styles, hooded sweatshirts, skirts with checkered prints, leather pants and jackets, capes, crocodile coats or prints made by the artist himself stand out. A nineties-inspired collection that reflects the grunge aesthetic of the time.

A line that has already become the most desired of the moment and that will be on sale next September 18 in the Zara online store.
