Lola Casademunt by Maite is determined to grow both nationally and internationally. After announcing that the firm has designed the formal uniforms of the New York Yacht Club American Magic team for the 37th edition of the Copa América, the firm led by Maite Casademunt presents a new project, this time, related to art.
The Catalan brand has exclusively created the new uniforms for the security guards at the Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum. It is the first time that a dressmaker creates the official staff clothing for this artistic institution. A way to unite fashion and art in the same space and to demonstrate, according to the brand, how design can enrich the cultural experience.
The costume change, which will take place in 2025, is the result of a contest organized by ACME among its creators and associated brands and in which the Catalan Lola Casademunt by Maite emerged as the winner. “Uniformity is the face of the company and is a central and vital part of the communication strategy,” Pepa Bueno, executive director of ACME, explained in a press release.
Lola Casademunt by Maite’s collection for the Madrid museum is inspired by the Japanese style. Thus, the uniform consists of a padded coat that has an ornament on the neck that simulates a scarf, a jacket with organic folds as if it were origami, a T-shirt that presents the museum’s logo in white, cut-off pants culottes and sports shoes made of eco-leather.
“It is an ode to traditional craftsmanship that, mixed with the most avant-garde trends, make up comfortable, versatile and sophisticated uniforms,” the firm details in the same press release.
