Kiko Rivera was one of Marc Giró’s last guests on his Late Xou and, as in many of the interviews given by Isabel Pantoja’s son, he left several moments to remember. The Sevillian DJ is working hard to keep his image as far away as possible from his mother and gossip magazines, and he is succeeding with flying colors.
One of the keys is to have successfully made yourself known on social networks, conquering a new generation of followers. In the words of Giró, Kiko is “an expert in music marketing.” Now, being a DJ and social media specialist was not what Kiko Rivera had in mind when he was little with respect to his future career, but rather a profession that had nothing to do with it.
Specifically, Kiko Rivera wanted to be a priest. A confession that immediately revolutionized social networks, since everyone thought that the Sevillian had always been interested in music and the audiovisual world. Well no, the first option of Paquirri’s youngest son was to dedicate himself to the priesthood.
The DJ is also fully dedicated to the world of video games, participating, he explained, in the digital project, Marbella Vice, in which he has created a character that has nothing to do with him. It was at that moment that he revealed that, when he was a child, he had wanted to be a priest. “When I was little I wanted to be a priest,” he confessed. “Well, it came out of the f*cks,” Giró replied.
Of course, not by divine inspiration; but because he had a model to follow. “I had a priest at school, called Father Rayo, who was very modern for the time,” he began by explaining. “He was not dressed as a priest. He was wearing his torn jeans, his jackets, his shirt… I fell in love with the priest. “I fell in love with his way of being.” That priest now lives his particular tribute in Marbella Vice, since his character is called “Father Curro”.
In the program, some images of the peculiar Father Curro were shown, where the character could be seen giving mass to some parishioners, and Kiko Rivera even singing hymns while broadcasting his games through Twitch.
“You have changed your life. You have given up all kinds of substances and narcotics. “I congratulate you,” Giró told him, which caused the DJ to win applause from the audience. A moment that Kiko Rivera wanted to take advantage of to share a reflection with the public about how she was living these moments.
“I want people to understand that it is very difficult for me, because I still work at night. I hold on, but when I see the demon come out, I run away. I try not to drink alcohol, that’s the problem, because everything else comes along.”
