Antonio Tejado faces a new week in jail after being accused of having been the “intellectual author” of the robbery at his aunt María del Monte’s house. On February 12, the judge investigating the case decided to send the television collaborator, and the rest of those investigated, to provisional detention without bail for the so-called ‘Abgena operation’.

After this decision, his lawyer sent a first appeal that was denied by the judge. “She had requested that freedom right after her statement on March 15, the Prosecutor’s Office objected and the private prosecution, María del Monte’s lawyer, too,” they stated in Let’s see. Now, the magistrate has again denied this request.

With this, this provisional freedom has been denied twice now, this having been very quickly. “What we have learned today is the resolution of the reform appeal that raised all the defenses on the day that the investigating judge made the order public and in which he made it clear what the reason was why they were in prison,” Isabel clarified. Rábago in the aforementioned space.

But there is something that he wanted to highlight above all that the judge says in the order: “The judge insists that as long as the investigation is open there will not be any type of movement.” So it has now become very clear that Antonio Tejado will not be released from prison unless the opposite is resolved during the trial.

Among other things, the magistrate has expressed his desire to wait for the “phones to be dumped” to be able to verify whether there is an organized gang, as stated in the police report, and to see the hierarchy that would be in this case.

Furthermore, he has stated, as Isabel Rábago has reported, that the judge does not plan to analyze the case individually, but will do so as a group. “I am not going to release one and I am going to leave the rest because I see it as a whole and I need to wait for that information,” the journalist related about the magistrate’s words.

This decision has been a blow for the accused. The journalist has stated that the family itself “continues to trust in their freedom, they continue to fight for their freedom.” Meanwhile, Tejado is in a new module in which he attends the gym and has new classmates.

“He has responsibilities within the module, he watches television, he is aware of everything. He is waiting,” Rábago added. Even so, María del Monte’s nephew continues to “maintain his innocence” and can only wait for the time of trial to arrive.
