Juanjo Puigcorbé, very "disappointed" with his time in politics: "It is a war of knives and insults"

Juanjo Puigcorbé has returned to the media scene after his sudden end in the world of politics. The actor was number two of the Republican Left on the Barcelona lists, becoming a Councilor for Culture of the Barcelona Provincial Council. A week ago he gave an exclusive interview to La Vanguardia, where he made it very clear that his withdrawal was due to some kind of plot against him.

And since he is not willing to let what happened go unnoticed, this Monday he went to the set of Espejo Público to continue narrating what for him was an ordeal, and an attempt to ruin his life. “Overnight this false report came out accusing me of this (workplace harassment of his subordinates), which is absolutely false,” he said.

Among other things, the actor has recounted how he found out what was about to happen to him: “I received three sheets saying, if you don’t resign, this will appear in the press. This report will be leaked.” Some papers that contained a series of statements against Puigcorbé as superior. At that moment he decided to resign, but shortly after he went in search of the truth.

“I’m going to look for the source of the papers. They didn’t expect it. That source said that 93.7% of the people who worked with me were very happy,” he continued. Even so, as the former politician explains, he was not allowed to present his version through any channel.

A decision that could have been due to the information it handles. “Evidently I know things. And we should not let this person have media power to say it, which is what has happened for 7 years,” she added. Still, he is willing to talk. “They removed me from politics in a mafia-like way, which seemed like an accident,” he said.

Something that has “hurt” him and for which he feels very “disappointed.” And, although, for him, in the acting profession there is people’s affection, in politics he has only seen “a war of knives and insults”, a constant.

One of the worst things he takes away from his time as a deputy is “the cainism” he has experienced: “Being betrayed by your hypothetical colleagues.” Something that “has names and surnames” and that were rewarded and “catapulted upwards.” Even so, he says that he has received the backing and support of the rest of the political parties: “Other people have treated me well, not everyone has treated me badly.”

As he has expressed, and as revealed in the La Vanguardia exclusive, he has all the necessary documents in his possession to defend himself and to prove that what he is saying is true. Although he is clear that he only seeks one thing: “I don’t want to go to war, I want to live in peace.”
