Juan del Val, son of Nuria Roca, criticizes the Ídolo Awards: "They haven't done anything important"

There are few more media couples in our country than the one formed by Juan del Val and Nuria Roca. Both presenters are experiencing a good professional moment and are visible on the small screen in our country in programs like El Hormiguero, but they are not the only ones in their family who enjoy some popularity. His son, who is also called Juan, succeeds on the TikTok platform creating content of all kinds, from humorous videos to other more personal ones.

The young man, who calls himself on the social network ”Its not Johnny 240” has gone viral this week after uploading a video in which he gave his opinion on the Ídolo Awards, some awards created by the influencer Dulceida who seek recognize the work of hundreds of content creators in our country.

The boy began by saying that he finds it funny that the awards are called “Idol” when most of the nominees are between 18 and 30 years old: “They haven’t had time to do anything important with their lives, nothing good. I’m not saying they’re bad people, but it’s just that they haven’t had time to do almost anything, just make content on a social network,” he said.

The tiktoker added in the piece that it does not seem normal for someone to be an “idol” just because they have followers: “Then I see a 10-year-old girl saying that her idol is Lola Lolita and I say look, it’s not that it’s bad, But what has Lola Lolita taught you? What has she given you? Why is she an idol?”

The boy is still convinced that calling the awards ‘idol’ is a serious mistake, since for him it would be more correct to use ‘Gala Content Creators’ or something related to the platforms where they work.

”From my humble opinion, I think an idol is much more than a tiktoker or a person who only has followers on social networks,” he said. In addition, at the end of the video he wanted to clarify that it is only his personal opinion, that he understands that there is a diversity of thoughts and that with the video he only wants to express his belief.
