This morning the 96th edition of the Oscar Awards was held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, a gala that has crowned some films as the best of the year and that has recognized the work of directors, screenwriters, actors and artists of all kinds.
Although it is a very special gala for the film industry because these awards represent the maximum recognition for audiovisual projects, actors and actresses, the contribution of these awards to the world of fashion cannot be denied, since it has become a showcase world event in which different artists parade with daring and ostentatious looks to make the audience fall in love.
As it could not be otherwise, fashion designer Juan Avellaneda has shared on his official TikTok account his first impressions of some of the celebrities’ outfits on the event’s red carpet.
Tamara Falcó’s friend is fully exploiting his critical capacity on the favorite social network of generation Z and is bringing his vision to a new audience with great success, since his profile already has more than 584,000 followers.
As it could not be otherwise, Avellaneda has been sincere and has harshly judged the outfits of some actors such as Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling or Dwayne Johnson, whom he has directly criticized, saying that he is “made out of a painting.” He has found other profiles such as Jennifer Lawrence or Eva Longoria correct, but he has confessed that he is not too enthusiastic about them either.
For the Spaniard, three actresses who have stood out for taking risks on the red carpet and for breaking away from the classic gala dress have been Lupita Nyong’o (with a bright blue design by Armani Privé), Emma Stone (with a spectacular dress by custom Louis Vuitton) and Florence Pugh (in an incredible dress with corset and satin skirt signed by Del Core).
Although he appreciates that men dare to do different things, the designer has explained that he is horrified by the pants worn by actor Enzo Vogrincic, but he has praised his shirt.
Avellaneda has also been fascinated by the actress Sandra Hüller, who has chosen for the occasion a mermaid-style dress with a strapless neckline with sculptural volumes in the chest area that has become the favorite of many experts.
Although we are facing a gala full of surprises in which many other artists have successfully taken risks (Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Carey Mulligan, etc.), Avellaneda has fallen madly in love with Any Taylor-Joy’s outfit.
”This is the pear. I love it,” the fashion designer said while commenting on the Dior jewel dress that the actress was wearing. In addition, Avellaneda wanted to highlight that it is a haute couture design inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus.
