The death of María Teresa Campos is the news of the day in many media outlets, gossip magazines and social networks. The death of the renowned radio and television journalist at the age of 82 is a heartfelt, painful loss for many of her colleagues who, for years, have described her as the “queen of the mornings.” Her goodbye leaves a multitude of goodbyes, messages of support for the family and memories.

However, one of the reactions has been unexpected. This is that of José Manuel Parada, who has left some forceful statements on Telecinco’s summer program. The television presenter, also a long-time friend of the missing woman, has shown pity and indignation at the impossibility of María Teresa being able to say goodbye to her in front of her audience with one last program. Campos had been away from television since 2021.

“She has been a teacher to many. I consider myself a Campos boy. I think the public loves her, we have grown up with her. I appreciate Teresa’s generosity when she was starting out and they put me to work with her on public radio and television. She treated us like family, I will not forget that ”, the communicator from Monforte de Lemos began by commenting, before giving way to his criticism.

“What saddens me the most, and I want to say this very loud and clear, is that it is a shame for many that María Teresa Campos has left without being able to do her last program, which was the last thing she asked for. Now everyone is saying “what a good Teresa, how wonderful”, but she publicly said “I know I’m older, but I can still work and I don’t want to stay at home all day”. And it seems that nobody wanted to give him that job. I think she leaves with a lot of grief, ”she commented.

In this way, Parada wanted to launch a criticism of several television channels for not giving María Teresa Campos one last chance, to do one last program before her death. The last time “the queen of mornings” appeared on the screen was two years ago with La Campos Móvil, a traveling talk show that ended up being canceled by Telecinco due to low audience. Since then, the malagueña has stayed away from the media.

Many have come to the La Paz funeral home to pay their respects to Campos, including the acting president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez: “I had the opportunity to be interviewed by her and since then we had a fairly constant relationship. She always seemed to me to be a very committed woman and very aware of current events, even in the moments when she suffered the most from the disease we maintained contact.”
