On April 6, José Luis Martínez-Almeida and Teresa Urquijo will say I do at the El Canto de la Cruz farm, located on the outskirts of the capital, in the municipality of Colmenar Viejo, property of the maternal grandmother of the girlfriend, Teresa of Borbón-Two Sicilies and Borbón-Parma, cousin of King Juan Carlos.

Meanwhile, and after celebrating their proposal, both have begun the pre-wedding celebrations and their respective bachelor parties. If Teresa Urquijo’s friends chose Milan last weekend to surprise the future bride, the mayor decided to stay within our borders. Specifically, in Galicia, where he has surrounded himself with old acquaintances and has been able to taste some culinary delicacies.

The future groom was organizing a getaway with friends for what was the first of several bachelor parties. A first meeting that stood out for its sobriety and elegance, since they did not have any accessory or function that would indicate what they were up to.

The group moved to A Coruña, where the mayor was able to meet with former co-workers and friends, many of them state lawyers; with whom he enjoyed a stew in a well-known restaurant in the seaport area. According to esRadio’s The Pink Chronicle, the mayor took advantage of the afternoon to walk around the city.

The next day, the Madrid mayor traveled to Pontevedra, where he attended the Cocido Fair held in Lalín. There, he was able to taste the delicacy once again, although with different companions, as he was seen with Mariano Rajoy and Alfonso Rueda, president of the Xunta de Galicia, among others. An event that became a political act, given that the autonomous community is in the election period.

This was the first bachelor party for the Mayor of Madrid, who already has other celebrations planned in the coming weeks.

Last January, the mayor visited the Madrid Directo studio, where he gave an interview to Nieves Herrero in which he talked about his next relationship. A day that he awaits with special enthusiasm. “It is a very important and long-awaited day,” he assured.

The mayor, however, acknowledged that he is a very shy person and all the anticipation for his wedding causes him some concern. Of course, he is prepared for whatever comes, including his new married life. “I’m going to have to give up some vices from my 48 years of life that are deeply rooted in my way of being, such as having an empty refrigerator, and therefore from now on I’ll have to get on with it.”
