Jorge Javier Vázquez, totally destroyed by the death of Lima, his most faithful "companion"

Jorge Javier Vázquez is going through a difficult personal moment, since his greyhound Lima has died. Through his regular column in Lecturas magazine, the presenter shared the sad loss of someone who was his faithful companion for the last twelve years, and revealed the strong bond they shared. Without going any further, this dog accompanied the Catalan on the cover of his book Before Oblivion.

“On Thursday night, Lima, my greyhound, left us. She was the first one that P. and I adopted together. Lima’s departure, after twelve years with us, has left us a bit behind,” confessed Vázquez , showing the impact of the loss on your life and that of your partner.

The presenter highlighted the crucial role that furry companions play in the lives of those who live alone: ??”For those of us who live alone and have animals, home is not the house but wherever they are.” Vázquez described the emotion of opening the door and being greeted by the effusiveness of Lima, who was in love with him.

The moving story continued with details about how Lima was present at crucial moments in Vázquez’s life, including during his recent stroke. “On Monday when I was in the hospital with the matter of that stroke… Lima was meditative, according to what I was told. Sad. And it happened that they put me in the operating room and she went back up the stairs to wait for me at the door of my room,” he revealed.

Lima’s health began to deteriorate in late November, and Vázquez shared how the greyhound overcame various setbacks in recent months. However, the situation worsened on Thursday night, when Lima did not appear during dinner preparation. The veterinarian uttered the fateful phrase: “Maybe we have to stop,” triggering the painful goodbye process.

The presenter described the moment when he had to accompany Lima on her last trip. “I took her head in my hands and we looked into her eyes, as we had done so many times over these twelve years. I caressed her, I told her ‘beautiful,'” he shared.

On May 20, 2022, Vázquez said goodbye to another dog companion, Travis. “Now we will have to learn to live without you. It will be very difficult because you have been a wonderful companion, Travis. What silence reigns now in your house. Happy trip and don’t forget to say hello to Cartago,” he published on his Instagram when he communicated the news. The presenter took in several greyhounds, and is a declared dog lover.
