The public return of Jorge Javier Vázquez already has a date and, furthermore, he will do so accompanied by one of the most relevant personalities of the moment. The communicator from Badalona has been one of those chosen by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to lead the presentation of his new book Tierra Firma, together with the journalist and writer Ángeles Caballero.

It will be next Monday, December 11, when the ceremony takes place. In it, Jorge Javier will reappear after several months away from the cameras. Since the end of Sálvame became known, the presenter decided to move away from the spotlight due to a health issue and was not even present in the last program of the space that he has hosted for 14 uninterrupted years.

Upon returning from the holidays, Vázquez headed Cuentos Chinos on Telecinco’s access prime time. What was going to mean his definitive return to television was cut short by low ratings, causing its sudden cancellation after only ten broadcasts. Since then, the presenter had once again stayed away from the cameras.

During this time he had only attended a few events of public interest, such as the wedding of Isa Pantoja and Asraf Beno, of which he was godfather, or more recently the farewell of his great friend Concha Velasco, who died last Saturday at 84. year old.

The good relationship between Jorge Javier Vázquez and Pedro Sánchez is not new. Since, in 2014, the presenter’s comments about the Toro de la Vega in Tordesillas provoked a live call to Sálvame from the then socialist general secretary, Vázquez has not hidden his ideological affinity with the party of the current president of the Government.

More recently, Sánchez himself decided to call the communicator after learning of the cancellation of the afternoon program. In an interview with Jordi Évole prior to the 23-J elections, Pedro Sánchez discredited Mediaset’s decision to replace Sálvame with another program, TardeAR, with Ana Rosa Quintana at the helm, and did not hesitate to assure that Jorge Javier is “a monster from the television”.
