Jon Wysocki, founder of the metal group Staind, dies at 53

Jon Wysocki, drummer and founding member of the metal band Staind, has died at the age of 53. This was announced by his colleagues from the other musical group in which he played, Lydia’s Castle.

The band has revealed that Wysocki died last Saturday at eight in the afternoon, a very sad day in which the musician wanted to be “surrounded by his family and friends who loved him so deeply.”

Soil, another group in which the drummer participated between 2011 and 2012, has issued a statement regarding his death, remembering Wysocki as “one of the greats” of music, and one of the most talented drummers.

“Jon Wysocki was not only a great friend and a great drummer, but a tremendous human being. It was an honor to have him at SOIL for as long as we did. We have laughed a lot and had many good times. We are going to miss you so much until we meet again, dear friend…”, his colleagues have written.

Wysocki rose to fame in the mid-1990s after founding Staind with vocalist Aaron Lewis, guitarist Mike Mushok, and bassist Johnny April. Unfortunately, he was kicked out of the group in 2011, being replaced by Sal Giancarelli.

Lewis has also written a message in his honor on social networks: “I am so sad. I have lost my friend. One whom I loved like a brother, who I fought with like a brother, who I cared for like a brother because I cared like a brother, for whom I cried like a brother… Because he was my brother, my partner. weapons. My path would have been different without him.”
