Last April, Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi announced their engagement to the world after three years of relationship. A highly celebrated news among her colleagues and friends, but not without criticism, since the protagonist of Stranger Things is only 19 years old, and her boyfriend, also an actor Jake Bongiovi, is 21.
Ages in which perhaps they should be thinking about something else before settling down “until death do them part”, but each to their own. However, the concern that they have made this decision so young is something that has also crossed the mind of the future husband of the actress, Jon Bon Jovi.
Jake Bongiovi is one of the sons of the legendary rock star and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, to whom he has been married for 34 years. A couple who knew each other during their high school days, being just teenagers, so they know firsthand what it means to commit so young.
Jon Bon Jovi was sitting on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live on Tuesday and was asked about his son’s engagement and his possible concerns about his son getting engaged.
“If you find the right partner and you grow up together, I think that would be my advice – growing up together is a wise thing,” said the musician and songwriter, recalling his own marriage to Hurley, with whom he also shares three other children Stephanie ( 29), Jesse (28) and Romeo (19).
What’s more, as he confirmed to Cohen, his two eldest children were also engaged at the time, and Bon Jovi couldn’t help but compliment his soon-to-be in-laws. “We love them all,” said the singer.
The couple announced their engagement on social networks on April 11, with a beautiful black and white photograph in which the two interpreters dressed in white appear, embracing and very smiling.
“I have loved you three summers already, and now, honey, I love them all,” wrote the protagonist of Stranger Things.
The actor asked his girlfriend to marry him with an impressive diamond ring, which could have cost a whopping 150,000 dollars (about 135,930 euros, in exchange).
Despite the criticism, the couple is moving on with their lives and, for the moment, they have not spoken about the criticism they have received about their decision.
