No one is ever prepared for the loss of their loved ones, and Joaquín Torres knows it well, who has just faced the death of his mother. The architect has shared the sad news through a heartbreaking message shared on his personal Instagram account. Torres expressed his deep pain and the void left by the departure of someone who was his greatest pillar and who gave him life.

“My mother left this morning surrounded by love, and a part of me has gone with her,” the architect began by saying through his Instagram stories. The architect has not been able to hide the pain he feels in these delicate moments. “Today I am completely broken emotionally and physically. The void that he has left in me is devastating and has dragged everything down,” he continued saying.

Joaquín’s mother had recently faced health problems, which is why the architect even modified important plans to be close to her. One of them was the honeymoon with her husband, television director Raúl Prieto. Torres did not want to go far from her mother’s home, even when she should have been celebrating one of the most important moments in her life. Because for him, her mother was an essential piece in her life.

“He has left me so much love and an example of life that will always be his legacy that nothing and no one can surpass,” he writes in his message. Torres assures that she will have a hard time continuing with her daily life without having his mother by her side. “I know I have to learn not to see her, not to touch her, not to hear her, not to smell her. Although I know that part of her energy will always be with me,” she expressed.

“I wanted to make you all share in my great loss and ask for a little patience so that I can be with you again,” stated the architect. At this time, Torres takes refuge in her husband, Raúl Prieto, and her children. The health of the architect’s mother has kept him in suspense in recent months, and these moments are some of the hardest for him.

The truth is that this is not the first loss that Joaquín Torres has faced. The architect experienced the death of his brother when he was young. “For years I have felt very guilty about the death of my brother Juancho due to drugs,” he explained in a television interview. “It is very difficult to live with a drug-dependent person and I did not have the maturity to understand it. When he died of an overdose, I realized how ungenerous I was with him,” he said. Without a doubt, these losses have been a real blow for him.
