JC Fridays kicks off new season on March 3

The snow has melted and spring is in the air. For residents of Jersey City this means Art House’s JC Fridays, a city-wide celebration of art and culture, is just around the corner.

JC Fridays will kick off its season with 39 exciting visual and performing arts events on Friday, March 3. Restaurants, galleries, stores and event spaces throughout Jersey City will showcase a variety of art-related happenings that range from visual exhibitions to live music to educational demonstrations and more.

All events are free and open to the public.

JC Fridays is a great opportunity for the vibrant Jersey City arts community to showcase its newest projects and works. Held quarterly, thousands of Jersey City residents come out to experience these artists’ latest works and to revel in the joy that art brings to the community.

Here is a sampling of JC Fridays:

— “Today!” presented by The Jersey Art Exchange, showcases work that considers the fears and aspirations of marginalized communities (114 Monticello Ave.)

— “Urbanity Thru the Lens,” Prime Real Estate’s first art exhibition (351 Palisade Ave.)

— “Unveiling Liberty,” a performance art piece (Barrow Mansion, 83 Wayne St.)

— “Reels, Jigs & Shenanigans,” Irish folk & rock songs, (Park Tavern, 575 West Side Ave.)
