The relationship between the singer Isabel Pantoja and the then mayor of Marbella, Julián Muñoz, began as it ended, with a great controversy. Shortly after her relationship with Diego Gómez ended in 2003, the tonadillera began dating Muñoz, something that brought a lot of tail because the politician was married to Mayte Zaldívar.

Although their beginnings were turbulent, both became inseparable and lived a few happy years in which everything seemed to go smoothly. The problem came three years after their relationship began, when the exedil was arrested in 2006 and sentenced to 20 years in prison for different corrupt operations investigated in ‘Operation Malaya’.

In 2009, Isabel Pantoja starred on the cover of the magazine ¡HOLA! ending her sentimental relationship: “My relationship with Julián has ended. It has been a very painful decision.” In said report, Kiko Rivera’s mother also said she was very calm about her legal problems, since she “was innocent.”

Despite staunchly defending her innocence and fully trusting Justice, the artist went to prison on November 21, 2014 convicted of money laundering. Paquirri’s widow was in jail until March 2, 2016, when she finally got out by signing the parole.

For his part, Muñoz spent just over 5 years in prison due to his delicate state of health. After so many years, both seem to have forgotten their affection for each other, since they have spoken ill of each other on numerous occasions.

The last time the tension that exists between the two became evident was just a few days ago, just after Isabel Pantoja attended the Ball of the Rose in Monaco and expressed that she feels close to Carolina de Monaco because similar misfortunes have happened.

Faced with such statements, the former mayor of Marbella expressed in an interview for La Razón that “comparing Pantoja with the princess is like doing it between Ana Rosa Quintana and the Virgin Mary.”

Sources close to the tonadillera have affirmed that these statements of the one who was her partner for six years have made her feel very bad and have explained that the singer does not understand what Julián pronounces at this point in life, laughing at her. “Forget me and leave me alone forever,” Isabel Pantoja would have said angrily. Her environment has also assured that this chapter of her life is closed and she does not even want to hear the name of that man and that is why she feels so upset every time he talks about her.

After so many misfortunes, controversies and media fights, Isabel Pantoja has once again taken the reins of her life and her career and has returned to the stage with more force than ever.

Last month, Pantoja embarked on a beautiful tour of the United States and some Latin American countries at the hands of her faithful niece, Anabel Pantoja, who accompanied her during that period on the American continent.
