In Search of Nirvana premiered this Monday on Cuatro with Raúl Gómez and with ten contestants known for their time in the world of entertainment. The reality show takes place in Nepal and the participants have traveled there with the aim of finding Nirvana, spiritual peace.
However, already in the first installment, there were somewhat embarrassing scenes due to what some of the contestants were carrying in their suitcases. Specifically, some sex toys. In fact, the spiritual guides of the temple have become scandalized, so the protagonist of this story, Iratxe Soriano, had to give explanations. Of course, these were not very convincing.
Inma Campano, Yolanda Claramonte, Cristo Contreras, Christofer Mateo, Mahi Masegosa, Aless Gibaja, Andrea Gasca, Alejandro Nieto, Iratxe Soriano and Charlotte Caniggia are the ten participants who premiered yesterday in the first installment of In Search of Nirvana, the new reality show from Cuatro that promises moments as fun as they are unusual.
As Raúl Gómez commented yesterday, the objective of the program is to find spiritual peace, something almost impossible for some of them. Hence the great challenge. In fact, none of them knew why they were traveling to Nepal, which is why in their suitcases they carried objects and gadgets that do not match the country they were visiting and that would not be of much use to them.
“Nirvana is a spiritual peace that we can access only by knowing ourselves fully. That’s our goal here. Maybe you think that why travel 8,000 kilometers for it, but you still don’t know each other that much (…) But achieving that seemed little to us, so we are going to give you something more materialistic: the opportunity to win up to 30,000 euros,” Raúl reported. Gómez to the contestants.
On this path, the contestants have the help of two Hindu spiritual guides, two monks known for their serenity and for renouncing any material possessions, who appeared before them to get to know each other and to check how attached they were to their material possessions.
“Put your suitcases and open them,” the presenter asked them while the monks watched the scene. One by one, the contestants showed what they had put in their suitcase to begin this adventure. “The monks are watching carefully everything you are taking out,” Raúl Gómez warned them.
It was the turn of Iratxe Soriano, who rose to fame after participating in the reality show Princesas de barrio, the young woman was shocked by the objects she was carrying in a bag and about which she tried to justify herself. “I am a single mother of five children,” she explained.
When the spiritual guides saw one of the fuchsia vibrators she was carrying, they were scandalized. “I’m sorry, sorry,” the contestant tried to apologize. Shortly after and already in front of the cameras, Iratxe reflected on this moment: “I think they didn’t think it was good about my children and I didn’t understand anything, if what I am is a family girl.”
