Andorra is a territory that attracts the eyes of many, both from the north and from the south. In 2022 the population of the country of the Pyrenees climbed to 81,588 inhabitants, 2.6% more than in the previous cycle. However, the demand for nationality applications fell by nearly 10%, standing seven points below last year. Part of this group can be found in content creators who move from Spain to reduce their tax payments.
A long-standing conversation full of supporters and detractors, which has found a new chapter between two of the most prominent names in the country. Ibai Llanos and David Cánovas, better known as TheGrefg, have starred in a small scuffle on social networks over this issue, coming to question the tax responsibilities of both, both for residence and for business projects, referring to the link between the former and the Kings League.
It all arose in one of the live broadcasts of the Bilbao streamer, where he was commenting and reacting to videos on tax issues, one of the many random contents that he covers on his channel. To the question of how to pay taxes, Llanos responded openly, pointing directly to Cánovas: “Very easy, you go to Andorra and spend 50 days there and 230 in Spain as Grefg does and, when the Treasury comes to investigate, let’s put the brown to your representative.
The one from Alhama de Murcia did not take long to discover the words of the content creator during one of his live shows, and replied forcefully to Ibai’s words: “Ibai is very funny with the tax jokes, right?” I am literally the youtuber who spends the most time in Andorra and you can see it where I go live. It would be necessary to see Ibai Llanos how he taxes his income. Does he pay them per company or per person? So many jokes from Andorra when I am the person who happens the most here”.
“He throws the joke very easily. I am going to start throwing little jokes in the Kings League programs, to see how each one pays tribute ”, Cánovas concluded. The streamer insisted after the fact that he pays all the necessary taxes in Andorra, while he wondered if Ibai Llanos deducted everything for his own company or declared his collaborations personally. A confrontation that has spread like wildfire on social networks.
“That the streamer known as TheGrefg tries to sow doubt about a guy who pays taxes in his country, giving access and possibilities to its citizens, while doing something morally revolting, makes me very funny. This bob is allowed everything. It’s everything that it should not be”, indicated a user in X. “Imagine thinking that Ibai’s taxes really represent something no bigger than a measly grain of sand on a beach”, replied another in the responses.
