There are many people who are afraid of flying and, because of this, avoid getting on a plane at all costs. However, when your profession forces you to travel often, you have to bite the bullet and try to solve that moment in the best possible way.

That is what Aura Garrido, the leading actress in series like El Inocente or El Ministerio del Tiempo, tries to do every time she has to get on a plane. In fact, she uses a relaxing pill to make the trip more bearable. However, as she explained in Martínez y Hermanos this Thursday, the situation changes when you have a panic attack and you think you are going to die.

The latest installment of Martínez y Hermanos, the program presented by Dani Martínez on Movistar Plus, was attended this Thursday by the chef Jordi Roca and the actors Javier Cámara and Aura Garrido. However, it was the latter who gained special prominence when asked about the most embarrassing situation experienced by a panic attack.

Then, the woman from Madrid explained that she suffers from aerophobia, fear of flying, and that, for this reason, every time she takes a plane she takes “a pill, a tranquilizer, the effects of which are not felt unless you have a panic attack.

If this happens, “you start to relax a lot,” said the actress. “How much more panic does the pill relax you?” The presenter wanted to clarify. To which Garrido answered in the affirmative and went on to relate an amusing anecdote.

The actress took a flight in the company of her representative and took the aforementioned pill. So far so good and no effect. However, just before takeoff, as the plane entered the runway, a flight attendant ran up to the intercom, which was located right next to her, and called the cabin with some alarming information.

“It’s still nothing, huh? But smoke is coming out of the bathroom in the back,” the flight attendant told the pilot while the actress listened to the conversation. Immediately afterwards, the plane took off and Garrido began to have such a panic attack that, due to the effect of the pill, he began to cry, slipping down the seat and not even being able to utter a word.

“The pill had relaxed me a lot and I think I’m going to die,” she explained while staging the moment of how the effect had left her completely inert. A long time later, when she was able to remove her seatbelt, the flight attendant came over and apologized for what had happened. Fortunately, everything was left in a good scare because that smoke from the bathroom was only a product of condensation.
